Robert “Bob” L. Metz, age 79, of Okeana, Ohio passed away on October 9, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital West. He was born on December 18, 1940 in Cincinnati the son of Virginia (Murphy) and Alvin Edward Metz, Sr. On June 7, 1958 he married Donna Ochs and together they raised two children. Bob served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was employed for many years at Miami Margarine Company as a lab technician.
He was a longtime member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Shandon, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Donna Metz; two children, Bryan (Debbie) Metz and Beverly Uphus; three grandchildren, Brittany (Calvin) Stanley, Austin Uphus, and Amber Smith; two great grandchildren, Rhett and Remi Stanley; two brothers, Ed (Loretta) Metz and Tom (Carol) Metz; and many other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild, Casie Uphus. Visitation will be held at St. Aloysius Church, 3350 Chapel Road, Shandon, Ohio on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 10:30 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon.
Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Aloysius Church Bereavement Committee, PO Box 95, Shandon, OH 45063. Online condolences at www.charlesyoungfuneralhome.com.
