Miami University swimmer Nicole Maier represented the RedHawks at the 2023 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. She competed in three events from Thursday, March 16, to Saturday, March 18, being named a CSCAA Second Team All-American in the women's 400 IM.
 
Maier kicked off her championship appearance on Thursday with the 500 freestyle prelims, where she finished 24th and earned a program top-five time of 41.47.
 
On Friday, the junior swimmer placed ninth by winning the consolation final for the 400 IM, earning a new school and Mid-American Conference record time of 4:05.84 and being given All-American Honorable Mention. This came after she qualified for finals that morning with a program top-five time of 4:09.61.
 
Maier closed out the weekend with the 100 freestyle prelims. She tied for 28th with a program top-five time of 48.42.
 
This was Maier's second consecutive appearance at the NCAA Championships. In last year's meet, she swam in prelims for the 500 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 100 freestyle.
