WASHINGTON, D.C.— Congressman Warren Davidson (R-OH) issued a statement following the House of Representatives' passage of H.R. 5403, the CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act. The legislation aims to protect American citizens from a government-controlled central bank digital currency (CBDC), which Davidson likened to systems used by the Chinese Communist Party.

“Central Bank Digital Currencies are an existential threat to western civilization. CBDC is a dystopian surveillance tool corrupting money into a tool for coercion and control,” said Rep. Warren Davidson. “Congress must defend the freedoms of the American people by banning Central Bank Digital Currencies. I applaud my colleagues for passing this legislation.”
