Warren Davidson, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Ohio’s 8th district, has shared insights on economic and political matters through his social media platform. Davidson replaced John Boehner in Congress in 2016 and has since been an active voice on various issues.
On June 9, 2025, Davidson discussed the Federal Reserve's monetary policy decisions from September 2024. He noted that "The Federal Reserve’s September 2024 rate cut did not lead to the expected decline in Treasury bond yields or mortgage rates." Instead, he observed an increase in Treasury yields, especially the 10-year yield which rose from 3.62% to 4.62% by late December. This rise was attributed to strong economic data and inflation concerns.
In another post made on June 9, Davidson commented on political ideology, stating "The woke right isn’t entirely different than the woke left." His brief remark suggests a critique of both ends of the political spectrum without elaborating further.
Later that day, Davidson expressed support for regulatory freedom under the current SEC Chairman. He emphasized that "It's so refreshing to have an SEC Chairman defending freedom!" Furthering this point, he asserted that opposition to self-custody is against individual freedom as enshrined in the Constitution. He cautioned against entities seeking control over citizens' assets.
Warren Davidson has been serving Ohio’s 8th District since 2016 after replacing John Boehner. Prior to his congressional service, he was part of the Concord Township Board of Trustees from 2004 to 2005.
