Warren Davidson, a U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 8th district since 2016, raised questions about federal healthcare subsidies and their effectiveness in a series of posts on his social media account on October 7, 2025.
In his first post of the day, Davidson wrote, " You know, it's possible that Obamacare didn't work and more subsidies won't either - since they already weren't working. But, it's also possible that there's some magic tipping point where if we go far bigger on subsidies, everything will be affordable. What do you think?" (October 7, 2025).
Later that morning, Davidson shared another message: "Breaking News from the Washington Post! https://t.co/SiZvFLccEf https://t.co/BFWNAplkj0" (October 7, 2025).
In a subsequent post, he questioned the relationship between federal subsidies and ownership in private companies: "If federal subsidies equate to a need for equity stakes in companies, why aren’t taxpayers majority shareholders in the health insurance companies? If we did this in healthcare… Not a proposal, just an observation…" (October 7, 2025).
Davidson has represented Ohio’s 8th district since replacing John Boehner in 2016. He previously served as a trustee for Concord Township, Ohio, from 2004 to 2005. Born in Sidney, Ohio, in 1970, Davidson currently resides in Troy.
