WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Warren Davidson (R-OH) issued a statement criticizing the recent passage of a multi-billion dollar foreign aid package by the House of Representatives. The aid package was intended for Ukraine, Israel, and Indo-Pacific countries.
In his statement, Rep. Davidson expressed his dissent towards the allocation of funds, saying, "Today, the uniparty D.C. establishment spent $100 billion securing other countries' borders but could not spare a cent to secure our own. My constituents' hard-earned tax dollars will fund the Biden Administration's missionless foreign policy agenda. Most troubling is the $9 billion in humanitarian aid for Gaza, which we know will fund Hamas terrorists. It is a betrayal to our most important ally, Israel, as well as to the American people.”
The foreign aid package drew criticism from Rep. Davidson for its allocation of resources to international borders while neglecting domestic security concerns. His concerns also extended to the allocation of humanitarian aid for Gaza, which he believes may end up funding Hamas terrorists, thereby betraying Israel and the American people.
Rep. Davidson's opposition to the foreign aid package highlights the ongoing debates surrounding the distribution of taxpayer funds for international assistance, particularly in light of domestic priorities and national security concerns.
