The Ohio House of Representatives has passed Senate Bill 104, which includes an amendment aimed at protecting students. State Representative Jennifer Gross (R-West Chester) announced the passage this week.

Senate Bill 104 proposes updates to the College Credit Plus Program, incorporating several recommendations from Auditor Faber’s 2021 report on the program. The bill also includes language from House Bill 184, stipulating that only boys will be permitted in boys' restrooms or locker rooms and only girls in girls' restrooms or locker rooms.

"By passing this amendment, we are upholding the fundamental right to privacy that our children expect and deserve," said Gross. "These new protections will help create a safer environment for all students in these spaces without concerns about their personal privacy. I look forward to the Senate taking this important legislation up as soon as possible."

The legislation now moves to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.
