Warren Davidson, a U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 8th district since 2016, posted a series of messages on his social media account on September 15, 2025, addressing concerns about institutional control and plans for governmental reform.
In his first post at 2:00 AM UTC, Davidson wrote, "This may break the internet. I have new plans for tomorrow at noon."
Later that morning at 11:42 AM UTC, he expanded on his views regarding institutions and governance. He stated, "Once the long march captures an institution, you must rebuild it or eliminate it. You cannot steer an organization that has been captured.
Freedom surrendered is rarely reclaimed, but this is our only path to restore a government small enough to fit within the Constitution.."
At 11:48 AM UTC the same day, Davidson offered further explanation of the phrase "long march through the institutions," posting: "If you don’t know how the left came to control our institutions:
The phrase **'a long march through the institutions'** refers to a strategy for social and political change by gradually infiltrating and transforming key societal institutions—such as education, media, government,"
Davidson has represented Ohio’s 8th district in Congress since succeeding John Boehner in 2016. Prior to his congressional service, he was a trustee on the Concord Township Board from 2004 to 2005. Born in Sidney, Ohio in 1970 and currently residing in Troy at age 53, Davidson has frequently commented on issues related to government structure and constitutional limits during his tenure.
