Warren Davidson, U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 8th district, addressed a range of policy issues in a series of posts on September 16, 2025. The topics included Social Security reform, freedom of speech, and national security threats posed by cartels.
In his first post of the day, Davidson commented on the importance of acting early to protect Social Security: "If any savings went to protect Social Security, we could force decisions now that will ultimately be made later at a far higher cost. Congress will ultimately protect Social Security. Why not begin now?" (September 16, 2025).
Later that morning, Davidson emphasized the significance of free expression: "Speech may reveal character, but freedom of speech is essential to defending freedom." (September 16, 2025).
In an afternoon statement regarding border security and organized crime, Davidson wrote: "Cartels have been rightly defined as enemies of our country. They are killing Americans with poison drugs, violating our sovereignty with an invasion, and fueling crime throughout our hemisphere - with domestic accomplices. President Trump rightly takes the threat seriously." (September 16, 2025).
Davidson has represented Ohio’s 8th District in Congress since replacing John Boehner in 2016. Before his tenure in Congress began in 2016, he served on the Concord Township Board of Trustees from 2004 to 2005. Born in Sidney, Ohio in 1970 and currently residing in Troy at age 53, Davidson frequently addresses national policy debates through public statements and social media activity.
