COLUMBUS—The Ohio Rail Development Commission has awarded a grant of $2,761,672.50 to Butler County for the Cedar Grove Connector project. State Rep. Thomas Hall (R-Madison Twp.) made the announcement during a local press conference. The funding will be used towards building an access road and closing an at-grade crossing in the Cedar Grove subdivision in St. Clair Township.

Hall emphasized the positive impact that this funding will have on the community. He said, "This project funding will make the Cedar Grove community an even better place to live. It will directly improve safety by ensuring our first responders have clear access to the subdivision and further improve traffic flow for residents."

Greg Wilkens, Butler County Engineer, expressed his gratitude to the Ohio Rail Development Commission for their generous grant. He stated, "This project will ensure the safety and convenience of the Cedar Grove subdivision residents and provide crucial access for first responders in the event of a stopped train. Without the ORDC, this much-needed project would not have been possible."

Cindy Carpenter, Butler County Commissioner, praised the collaboration between citizens and local government. She said, "This is an example of the power of citizens and local government working together to make a difference."

The funding for the Cedar Grove Connector project was allocated in the most recent state budget for grade crossing eliminations. This project will not only enhance the safety and accessibility of the Cedar Grove subdivision but also contribute to the overall improvement of transportation infrastructure in Butler County.
