State Representative Thomas Hall has announced the signing of House Bill 303 by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. The legislation introduces a process allowing individuals to propose new training or continuing education topics for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel.
The bill permits individuals to submit requests to the State Board of Emergency Medical, Fire, and Transportation Services. This board will have the authority to approve topics and set rules for the required number of hours for each approved topic.
“I am grateful to my colleagues and Governor DeWine for helping get this legislation across the finish line,” said Hall. “An EMS personnel’s training and experience are the determining factors between saving someone’s life.”
Additionally, an amendment in the legislation reinstates provisions related to Ohio’s Medication Aides Program that were unintentionally overwritten.
House Bill 303 is set to become effective in 90 days.
