Three House committees have embarked on hearings for legislative proposals introduced by State Representative Thomas Hall. These initiatives cover various aspects, including organ donation, school board elections, and school safety.
The House Ways and Means Committee heard testimony on House Bill 122, which seeks to alleviate financial barriers to living organ donations. This bill proposes a new income tax credit for employers providing paid leave to employees who donate organs. Hall is co-sponsoring this bill with State Representative Brian Lampton.
House Bill 153, presented to the House General Government Committee, aims to require candidates for local school boards to declare a political party affiliation when filing, in line with other Ohio elected officials. State Representative Beth Lear collaborates with Hall on this measure.
In the sphere of school safety, the House Education Committee commenced discussions on House Bill 189. This bill proposes a statewide behavioral threat management system to identify and manage threats to schools. Hall is working alongside State Representative Haraz N. Ghanbari on this measure.
“These are just three pieces of legislation I feel will strongly impact our district,” stated Hall. “They will promote the health and wellbeing of Ohioans, ensure election transparency, and increase school safety.”
