Four House committees in Columbus have commenced hearings on several legislative measures sponsored by State Representative Thomas Hall. The proposed bills aim to address issues ranging from public safety to tax incentives for organ donation.
The House Public Safety Committee received proponent testimony on House Bill 20, which seeks to ensure first responders have adequate space to perform their duties effectively. This bill is co-sponsored by State Rep. Phil Plummer.
House Bill 122, designed to introduce a new income tax credit for employers providing paid leave for employees who donate organs, was discussed in its third hearing by the House Ways and Means Committee. This initiative is co-sponsored by State Rep. Brian Lampton.
In the House Judiciary Committee, hearings continued on Aspen Runnels’ Law, or House Bill 203. This legislation aims to increase penalties for traffic offenses occurring in active school zones and is co-sponsored by State Rep. Josh Williams.
Additionally, Hall provided sponsor testimony before the House Financial Institutions Committee regarding House Bill 278. This bill proposes updates to Ohio law concerning the Treasurer of State and is co-sponsored by State Rep. Ty Mathews.
“I am proud to continue to champion policy that is good for my district and the state as a whole,” said Hall. “These bills will directly increase public safety and continue to make Ohio the best place to work, live, and raise a family.”
