State Representative Jennifer Gross has announced that the Ohio House of Representatives passed House Bill 10, a measure aimed at protecting consumers from misleadingly labeled imitation meat and egg products. The bill mandates companies to clearly label food as either an agricultural or manufactured product, preventing them from selling misbranded items as genuine meat or egg products.

Gross emphasized the importance of consumer empowerment in making informed decisions. "To foster trust, safety, and clarity, empowering consumers to make informed choices is crucial," she stated. "House Bill 10 is a strong step toward greater transparency in Ohio’s food supply."

The bill will now move to the Senate for further deliberation.
