Jennifer Gross | The Ohio House of Representatives
State Representative Jennifer Gross has announced that the Ohio House of Representatives passed House Concurrent Resolution 8. This legislation urges the U.S. Congress to make the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) permanent, aiming to ensure continued prosperity through lower and simpler tax obligations for citizens and businesses.
The TCJA, introduced in 2017 in the U.S. House of Representatives and supported by President Trump, is a significant reform of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. It reformed nearly every aspect of tax collection in the United States. Under current law, many provisions are set to expire in 2025, which prompted the introduction of H.C.R. 8.
Representative Gross stated, “Should these provisions expire, hardworking Americans would experience significant tax increases and stall economic growth.” She added that "these tax cuts brought substantial relief to over 100 million Americans and it is essential to maintain them."
The resolution now moves to the Senate for further consideration.
