Warren Davidson, who has represented Ohio’s 8th district in the U.S. Congress since 2016, recently shared a series of posts on social media addressing legal outcomes and financial freedom. Davidson, born in Sidney, Ohio in 1970 and currently residing in Troy, succeeded John Boehner as the district's representative.

On July 12, 2025, Davidson commented on a recent legal decision: "Good news! Although prosecution should never have occurred, this is a just outcome."

Later that day, he discussed concerns about financial autonomy and self-custody of assets. He stated on July 12, 2025: "If someone else controls your money, your freedom is conditional. The right to transact pre-dates any government and is essential to defending freedom. Protect self-custody.

Keep Your Cash.

Keep Your Coins."

On July 13, 2025, Davidson addressed the implications of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and referenced legislation known as the Genius Act. He wrote: "Did you know the Genius Act enables a layered Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC)?

CBDC is sometimes called programmable money. Your use of your own money could not only be monitored, it could be conditional, or even expire.

In China they are linking it to social credit".

Davidson has served in Congress since replacing John Boehner in 2016 and previously held office on the Concord Township Board of Trustees from 2004 to 2005.
