Warren Davidson, U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 8th district since 2016, posted a series of statements on social media addressing recent legislative developments and national policy issues.
On August 19, 2025, Davidson commented on the suspension of solar subsidies over farmland, writing: "Tremendous win! Best sequel ever! #47 We have fought to make this suspension of solar subsidies over farmland a reality with legislation (and should continue). Thankfully this reprieve allows time for markets to adjust and Congress to finally take necessary action!"
Later that day, he addressed immigration and census data concerns in another post: "Not just California, but everywhere. We have some non-citizens in Ohio, but border states have far more. Nevertheless, the biggest distortions occur in sanctuary cities and states. A new Census provides a just remedy, provided the citizen data is the basis for apportionment." This statement highlights ongoing debates about how non-citizen populations affect political representation and resource allocation.
On August 20, Davidson turned his attention to defense policy: "Congress needs to modernize the Defense Production Act to ensure this clarity, focus, and urgency proves enduring. We go to war with the supply chains we have, not with the supply chains we wish we had. The sense of urgency is long overdue. #47 is the best sequel ever!"
Davidson has represented Ohio’s 8th District since replacing John Boehner in 2016. He previously served as a trustee in Concord Township from 2004 to 2005 and was born in Sidney, Ohio in 1970 before settling in Troy.
