Warren Davidson, a U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 8th district since 2016, has recently used his social media platform to comment on government spending and economic policy.

On August 23, 2025, Davidson questioned the direction of U.S. economic policy in a post stating, "Big news ≠ Good news. State-sponsored capitalism? America will not outperform China by being more like China."

The following day, Davidson addressed congressional funding procedures with another post: "What should Congress do about funding in September? Passing individual bills, subject to amendment, on time (9/30) isn’t even being considered, FWIW." Later that same day, he elaborated on possible funding outcomes for the upcoming fiscal year: "Note that 3 of these options result in a CR… 1. CR for FY2026 funding holds the line on spending, and no change to policy. I oppose. 2. Temporary CR to allow details for an omnibus spending bill to work out. This would spend more and likely have few reforms because passing it"

Davidson's comments reflect ongoing debates within Congress regarding government spending practices and the use of continuing resolutions (CRs), which are temporary measures used to fund federal agencies when formal appropriations have not been signed into law by the start of the fiscal year.

Warren Davidson succeeded John Boehner as representative for Ohio’s 8th district in 2016 after previously serving on the Concord Township Board of Trustees from 2004 to 2005. Born in Sidney, Ohio in 1970, Davidson currently resides in Troy.
